Looks like a honed kit list to my nieve eyes, not ultra light but if I remember right your out for a long time not just a good time :)

    What's not to like....:)

Like mine (so I'm biased)..I don't take a towel or a knife (often), and your FAK duplicates some of what I would call essentials such as lip balm; but really...

Interesting that you take down trousers and socks (guessing quilt boost)..but there with the socks (have some Aegismax on order) - my feet seem to take longer to warm up these days after a cold day in the rain.

    Looks like a good list.
I feel that your baselayer bottoms are quite redundant with the down trousers.
You could also look into replacing the knife when it breaks to a Leatherman Style CS or similar.

I dunno why you have 3 extra phone batteries when you have a charger, maybe that your sun-charger isn't a battery powerbank? I'd remove the sun-thingie if that's the case and get a 10.000 mAh powerbank instead. Still don't know how much you're on your phone while walking or if you rely heavily on it as a GPS. EDIT: Or if you use it as a video camera and need the extra battery life for that.

If you should add something I'd say a firesteel as Bic lighters doesn't like cold/wet or that combo :)

    Honed, but could be better.
I'm out for a few months this year. I start travelling the end of March and hopefully go through to mid October.

I hear what your saying about the base layer duplication. The base layer is multi purpose where the down pants are a quilt boost as @edh alluded too. Maybe I will bin one or the other if things don't work as planned.
My phone is everything, entertainment, Viewranger, wikilocs, photo's, coms I cant do without one.
Reason for the phone batteries is they charge much faster than my Anker power bank. The Anker has a charge regulator built in and only lets my solar charge at a maximum of 97 mah. Where as the phone batteries will allow 170 mah through. I may also take a Samsung euro fast charge as well, not bought one yet still thinking about it.
I've never had a problem with a bic but there is always a first. A fire steal is the better choice.

Fair enough with the multi purpose part. Myself I've never needed the extra insulation while walking but it all depends on where you are, altitude etc. I guessed you had a reason for it :)

However, don't ditch the Bic, quite hard to light a candle or put some flame to a cord or similar with a firesteel. But it's equally easy to light a burner gas or alcohol with a firesteel as a lighter.

I'm mulling over whether it's better to use insulated trousers (limited use for me, don't get too cold generally ~200g ) and ins jacket (would carry anyhow, no added weight) to boost a 3 season quilt or a lightweight water resistant over bag ~360g
Insulated trousers would be lighter and more multi use, but the over bag doubles as a water resistant bivvy.

I think you've missed out your Fenix head torch and associated battery support.

Not taking it this year, going with an Aliexpress small led torch. It runs for 3 hours on an AA battery not the best for night walking but usable.

Petzl e+lite is also a good option if you haven’t bought a new light yet.

Got my Base weight down to a smidge below 6kg. It's about as low as I can get it for this years trip.
