I keep coming back to this top but am reluctant to order as I'm unsure on the sizing.

    Large - 104 - 108cm, 41-43in
    X-Large - 109 - 113cm,
    43 - 44.5in
    2XL - 114-118cm, 45 - 46in

I take size Large in old gear, recent Montane and Rab purchases have been XL (since size charts starting moving Large from 42-44 to 41-43?...), recent Rohan and Arcteryx (not athlete cut) have been L.

I've read you need to size up. I'm 5'11"- 6'0, quite broad shouldered/chest.

I think I need the XL but it's a long way to return a wrong size -hate tops which are tight on the chest or baggy ill fitting.

Any Nitro owners give a bit of advice? How they compare and what fits them? How tight?

    I can try and help.
You need to know your accurate relaxed chest and waist measurements in metric. Don't guess would be my advice. That's what's really relevant and how much you want to wear under it.
I have two, one in L and one in XL but bought for different purposes. Plus to perhaps layer.
The L is to wear over thinnish Capilene like Patagonia LW or the Rab Pulse Hoody.
I am 104cm chest (1.79m tall) and with the Rab Pulse hoody under equals a Large Nitro for me. The Nitro large and the Pulse large are exactly the same size on me.
Sits lightly on me not stretched, but not what you would say baggy. Good for light and highly active.
I bought the XL if I want to wear a (fishing) walking shirt which is a more blousy underneath.
I wore the shirt into the shop and with the XL Nitro over it I was happy with the fit. The L felt a bit too restrictive.
I think the weight only goes up about 5 grams for each jump up in size.
Just looking at their suggested size chart which I'd not done before-it suggests with my chest measurement 104cms suits their Large range which is 104cms to 108cms.
I reckon however, my 104cms is close to the max limit (probably about the 104cms or 105cms) for the large size not the 108 it says. If you are 108cms you could wear XL but the XXL might be needed for looser under layers or a more relaxed fit.
The chart for that item is not accurate.
If you take the first measurement as the limit max. I reckon you are not too far wrong.
The reason I s'pose some people feeling you have to go up one size and others I know of feeling it is correct.
Macpac-there have been many here lamenting their dodgy sizing of late plus their dodgy pricing-wait a week and the Nitro will drop again or go up-who knows.

I really like the look of the Nitro but the cost of importing, and even more importantly for me the hassle, is off-putting. If ever there's a group buy, I'd be interested.

I'll have a remeasure of myself and top this afternoon. I rarely wear anything under mine.

Chest 44" or 112cm ... that lose a stone New Year's resolution from last year didn't work... :bag::oops:

I was expecting to use it with a light base layer under it, like as a mid layer.

Thanks for the offer, but fairly sure the Large wont fit.

Be interested to know tight yours fits on your chest size though.

XL and that might be snug.... Can't see you getting a layer beneath without it being tight under the pits...

Thanks @Chiseller my concern with going up another size is it will have no fit and be too baggy. Think i need to get rid of 10lb... after Christmas... :shifty:

Alpha works best when it's close... Bit like the old pile/pertex concept.
There's some give in them but I'm a large and depending on how many weeks in a row I've had a couple of pints or a belgian scone... It's too snug. Mines large and I fluctuate between 40/41 chest /back fat. It's the seams under the sweat pots that bring the problem... That and looking like I shouldn't really be wearing it when the belly swells... They arnt very long in the body...

You sound like you are near the limit or just over for the XL using the size figures in your first post providing your measurements are spot on. I reckon the upper limit for the XL is near the 109 or so. But sounds to me with 112 cms you might be more ike XXL. I don't think I could wear my XL if I had your dimensions. Can't buy both then flog the one you don't want?

Thanks all, think i'll hang on for the moment, my new workplace in the New Year has a gym and no food shops within 3 miles, should help the regime... :shifty:
