Following on from another thread re SMD lunar solo, how easy or difficult would it be to remove some of the inner mesh and replace with the same material as solid inners? Maybe its a none starter for other reasons? I really like my solo but find with the high front, about 8 inches off the ground it can be somewhat breezy with the full mesh inner. Thoughts anyone?

I'd say it's mostly mesh to help airflow to reduce condensation . It seems to work as I was with a someone for 20 days in Pyrenees a few years ago who had one.his videos on YouTube explaining it under Tom studd

Saw that vid ages ago when I was looking at buying one. Would have thought half mesh and with the huge air gap at the front it would be ok.

I think its only really meant for warm weather. Tom told me the other day someone saw that video and then bought one to go backpacking in sweden because he rated it so highly. It was cold and wet - the bloke ended up in condensation hell.

Even in very dry Wyoming after one night I had insane condensation with me and two dogs, but I don't have that issue nearly as badly with my Duplex...guessing because of the cross-breeze.

I've never had any condensation in mine, its always breezy but that is the issue...too breezy.
