I am on the lookout for a light 60ltr pack
@FOX160 : What´s light for you?
Just over a kilo
ÜLA OHM 2.0,but the 60l are a bit optimistic.Klymit Motion 60 is about 1,3 kgs all in. I´ve got the HMG Porter 4400 (72l) which comes in at 1120g in size L.I might sell it if I get a fair price.Several Lightwave packs are around 1100 g.
Exped Lightning 60? Just over a kilo, bombproof pack.
Osprey Exos 58.
Both are pretty readily available.
Cottage options are the ULA Circuit, HMG 4400-packs, SWD Long Haul 50...
I have experience with the Exped, the ULA & the SWD, so shoot if you have any questions
ULA Circuit is 1010g from memory, side by side with my Ohm it looks a lot bigger than 4L extra, it holds my winter hammocking kit much easier than the Ohm does.
@shewie:Real weight of the Circuit is about 1200g medium size !!!
Mine was 1060 although I took off everything removable.
I've just been in the man cave so thought i'd check mine while I was there, 1160g with everything on, I reckon if I took off the hand loops, bottle holders and both interior pockets it wouldn't be too far off 1kg
Lightwave Ultrahike 60. 1.15kg but most comfortable pack I own.
@Arne L. and @Shewie :Ok,I was talking about the all-in weight.
If you really need a bag that big, then my guess is you will be carrying a bit more weight.
Think about an exped lightening or a six moon designs Fusion.
Both are excellent load carriers with excellent compression.
When you get your Mats and EE quilt, you can give my OHM 2.0 a try if you want. It's a size large with a medium hip belt.
2 friends have circuits.
They aren't looking at other rucsacks anymore.
I've tried one in October and they seem very good.
I tried an Ohm just before. The circuit feels better
GG Mariposa? Its been too big for my needs for a while and if it found a good home.... 65l and carries well
My GVP gear G4 weighs a bit over a pound and carries like a spud sack.
For the ULA packs, why do the specs state max carry weight of 30lbs but also recommend a base weight of 12lb?
Thanks guys for all your input and offerings.
I do have the Exped 45L Lightning, but I don’t like the cheese wire front straps together with the thin
padding underneath. I’ll take all your input and do my homework.
I had the same issue with the Exped Thunder. I made some shoulder strap pads https://blogpackinglight.wordpress.com/2016/04/23/myog-rucksack-shoulder-strap-pads/
I’ve thought of a slightly better design so I’m going to do a mark 2 version. The mark 1 version still works well though. Quite easy to make.
The ULA Circuit looks fab, good job I don't need a bag atm (read; should not spend any more money).
There's also the Granite Gear Crown 60, both versions 1 and 2 are available.
Yes I have the older version, nice bag.
