Lanyard tether

Given the surprising things people know about on here....

I always use a lanyard on my phone when walking.....generally glued to a case....my last one just failed...

I need a solution/replacement....something like this....

Any ideas?

I've used a MYOG one for 3 years now in various iterations. It never comes off my phone.

A tearshape on a tab piece of Xpac fastened to a grosgrain lanyard by way of a few Kam snaps and posted through the charging slot of my phone case. I use a few because one can come undone too easily and drop the phone.
A bit of thin duck tape stops it slowly working its way out and the Xpac is thin enough to still allow the charging cable in.

The Kamsnaps are great as I can quickly pop the phone off the lanyard and being plastic they don't mess the screen protector up. Anything with metal quickly causes damage I've found.

Thanks @craige and @Teepee - that looks like a great solution...perhaps even manageable with my MYOG skills 🫣

@gixer - cheers I use one of those on the bike, it's a little bulky - I should have noted that it's for quick access in a Treadlite shoulder strap pocket.

@WilliamC there will be no black pudding 😀

Aye, the case is a noggin thicker, the ring attachment sits flush though

Bet if you used a bit of strap-like material instead or cord you could close the ring attachment as you put in your case

I just have some Spectr line going around the speaker hole & the edge of the case, and have a quick release buckle for a wrist strap (I'm paranoid of dropping my phone over the edge when up on the hills / coastline etc)

We both got free cases from Samsung when we got our 21 pluses, they had a lanyard loop, I swapped mine out for a spigen case as I don't like the lump on the case, but the wife likes hers.

I'd bet there's protective cases for most phones on Amazon with lanyard loops/connectors
They tend to be bulky.

I like the idea of using the port cut outs - it never occurred to my non Edward de Bono mind :bawling:

~20 years ago I remember this..
I was a design student at the time.
Times move on so fast in what people want from our “mobile communication devices”

Same tape I use to glue dcf - glued to the tyvek base and again between the 2 straps. I couldn't get the test piece apart ...

Those look nice if a touch spendy.

I have gone with the power slot idea; simple and hopefully effective.
