I bought this mat when William C spotted a cheap deal on Amazon but have never used it as I actually have a perfectly good mat already. Selling on for the same good price. ULOG price is £110

    That's RSI = 0.78; the equivalent in imperial terms (R-value) is 4.4.

Is this the tapered version or rectangular?

I think all klymits are sort of tapered rectangles. Are there two types? Anyway, here’s my pic of their pic.

I'm pretty sure it's not tapered. I can measure mine tomorrow if you need to be sure. Note that it's wider than most mats.

It’s true, the 556g is for a mat that’s 4cm wider than my etherlight xt and with a better R value and 1/3 of the price. ??? It is odd. Maybe I should sell the etherlight instead, also new since they replaced the one with a dodgy valve. Anyway can’t have both.

I had one of the old massdrop ones which was tapered - but my partner borrowed one of Moles old klymit pads which was a straight rectangle. She liked it a lot more than my x-lite, partially because of the lack of taper! I also found my old half-as-expensive-ostensibly-warmer klymit much more comfortable than the x-lite.

Although it may not be warmer, apparently klymit are known to be creative with their r-values? I’ve only been told this, no real source, mind.

Anyway, good price and a comfy pad. I’ll mention it to my partner as she’s in the market.

it’s a bit awkward fitting a wide rectangular mat into a TT notch. Fine in the x mid or anywhere without a weird shaped inner I guess.

I do love my Klymit pad. And these are not tapered...same one as I have. Comfy and warm.

We are stomach and side sleepers, we really like ours cosy and warm
and wide, great when sharing a quilt in blanket mode.

I think I’m going to keep this, after all.
