Canberra is nice to visit but you run out of thing pretty fast. It is however a great jumping off point to Namadgi,the Brindabellas and Kosciuszko. Some great walking.

Yes but 6 hours driving and looked to go in Jan to escape the heat which was brutal this year inland, but was warm there too so gave it a miss. One day......

Greetings from Portsmouth on the south coast.
I have good memories of the coast road Adelaide-Melbourne which I drove some ten years ago. I had a lot of rain while I was in Oz including a downpour at Ulurhu!
My sister-in-law returned from Oz last year - the heat had got too much for her after 15 years!
