Playing around with my (Trangia Copy) meths stove today I wondered about faster boil times.

I've read positive comments on Headly's stoves, boiling 500ml on mine takes from igniting to boil 9.5 mins and that is indoors.

Has anyone measured a boil time for the same amount of water on HH's stove ?

Assuming HH's stove has a better boil time, is there a notable fuel consumption difference in Boil Time v Fuel usage compared to the Trangia, not that it would bother me, just interested to know.

Any reason a simmer attachment would not work on HH's stove, don't know if HH does one, was thinking of something DIY if feasable.

ive not timed it but its slow and efficient rather than fast and thirsty which is what i tend to like. it is slower and more fuel efficient than a trangia i can safely say.

They are nice little stoves which weigh close to nothing and I know evernew haven't made a profit - makes me happy.

The small one is good for little mugs around 300-400ml. I tried a 750ml pot but didnt bring to boil. The bigger ones is good for 750ml though and brung to boil in around 10 mins as far as I remember. I was planning on trying out my new Evernew solo set tomorrow with different stoves so will do some timings for you.

I don't have anything against evernew, I just meant companies in general - I'd rather pass my coin to a person rather than a company.

And the trangia stove is heavy but reliable. I still prefer by speedster stove.

Naught really edh, it was more a question of how efficient the stove I have is by comparison, I suppose my going from gas to meths does make it seem like a metaphorical eon to boil a mug of water.

efficiency and boil time are 2 different parameters.
the former is important, the latter hardly at all as long as within reason. (for me)
