Hi my name is Margaret also known as Beryl :) I live in Lancashire and enjoy walking anywhere in the UK as many weekends as possible. I also love camping, youth hosteling and bothying. I'm now gradually lightening my backpacking/camping gear and hoping to do more of this as I get more confident and increase my navigation skills. I am really enjoying reading everything on this site :)

Hi guys and gals. My name is Elton I live in Lincolnshire and like Beryl I'm in an ever evolving process to lighten my load. I love backpacking and wild camping and everything to do with these pastimes. I don't get out as often as I'd like what with everyday life (job, marriage, fatherhood) but I get out as often as I can even if its only to the local woodlands or coast. I've written a few posts on my blog but nothing spectacular :) I'm currently awaiting with growing impatience the arrival of my new shelter the Tarptent Stratospire 1, which is currently sat in Rotherham Parcelforce depot where it has been sat for several days now due to the fact Customs stamped a Duty upon it :( Hopefully tomorrow I'll receive written notification and be able to get my hands on it.
Anyway, I look forward to sharing experiences and thoughts with you!

I like Robin have just blundered in and started posting with out a proper introduction.
Sorry for the late Hello.
You might find me wandering around the West Country, South Wales and Scotland. Trying to do it comfortably with a minimum amount of kit and fuss.
I apologise in advance for the drivel I might soil this forum with.

Hi folks, my name is Paul, I'm from Co. Durham, I do some day walking but mostly backpack. I usually walk with spiritburner and some other guys from the North East.
We've just returned from a wet and windy trip to the Cairngorms where the conversation revolved another outdoor site.
Pleased to have found you guys.

A couple of us did a big order last summer so I'm still getting through the last of those, hoping to pick some more up when we're over in Summer.

Hi all. Just joined. Been a lightweight backpacker for several years but not been active for a while, so really just returning and hoping to get back into it. Also, having a clear out of cupboards full of redundant gear so hoping to put some of it on here,
Cheers

Hi, just joined so thought would say hello. I love being outdoors and under canvass (or cuben...) The Yorkshire Dales are on our doorstep so often out there but also love hiking in Europe. Nothing beats setting off for a hike knowing you've got everything you need on your back.

I've been progressively working to get my base weight down and am now around 3.8kg (weekend jaunt) to 4.5kg (cold nights/long trip). Great to meet you all; I recognise some from OM. It was a google search for 'Duplex' and 'linelocs' that brought me here - I'm just working out whether I can retrospectively add some to the door guylines.
