Hi,can anyone confirm how fit is ? im normally a large and in Montane a L will fit but to be able to move properly and have longer sleeves I find a XL a better fit

Mine (the smock) is a Large. It's fits pretty flush, no discomfort or tightness when on, it's the right size - if I put on half a stone that might change. Slightly challenging to put on which I find with smocks anyway, I usually size up in waterproof smocks.

In Montane I always take XL now, only my old Montane gear is size Large.

It's a great UL insulation btw.

Edit: actually the last time I wore it was in the summer around the same time of the Howgills trip. That's the biggest I've been, I've lost 17 pound since then, should fit me better and fit you in L assuming your not using it as an extra overlayer of other insulation.

@Munro277 after reading the other thread I assume you do mean the 'hypertherm' insulation and not the waterproof.

I did try on the waterproof in the summer, think they were £70 in the Gretna shopping outlet. Again a Large was fine assuming you don't want to layer insulation under it. I don't think it would be a pleasant experience wearing it in rain though (whereas a slightly heavier Montane Minimus smock is tolerable in all but heavy or persistent rain)

I had to go up to an XL with my Hypersmock, the only piece of XL clothing I own.

The L was okay once on but it was really awkward getting there, the coating inside is quite rubbery and it didn't give much wriggle room, I was paranoid about sticking and elbow through the fabric so went up another size.

I went up from Medium to Large for the smock and I'm glad I did for the same reason, plus I want to be able to wear a thin fleece under it.

My wife has the jacket in size 10, which would normally fit and she finds it a bit tight across the shoulders.
Edit to add, the waterproofs, not the insulated jackets - getting threads mixed!

I'm 5'10.5, 43" chest 83kg and the large fits well, I could put some weight on and still fit well. Never head out without (one) of mine

looks like theres one in L and XL. The L fits me better now, i can put it on with no problems, no different to my PHD smock. I must still have at least another half a stone on you and roughly the same height(?), but XL if your unsure. Surprised Shewie etc needed to size up, imo they're not a tight/athletic fit.

I’m 6 ft and now sadly approaching a few pound off the 14 stone mark
