So I'm going to fuertventura and assume it will be mostly rocks and not earthy enough for stakes.

I guess my utter lack of logic and common sense might now be revealed

I thought I need to bring extra string / lines (don't know how to call it) and attach them to the loops and then onto the rocks?

    Any thoughts, info or advice?

    Thank you

That's OK providing little wind and no percussive friction....otherwise....

Assumes your guys are long enough to go around a bit rock. @edh s idea or that in the video posted by @Lempo is what I'm going to use if I ever need to. Many thanks.

I bring extra cord and use a girth hitch to connect that to the existing cord, since a girth hitch is quick and easy to add and remove. If I'm using skis/sticks etc I girth hitch on a big enough loop, whereas for tying to rocks I girth hitch on a line with just a loop in the end, so I have a free line to tie around the rock as needed.
