As there is a general appetite for another SW Spring meet, it had been proposed to go to the Brecon beacons for the weekend of 9-10 March.
As I'm not intimate with the place, hoping someone local will help with organising.

Unfortunately, even though I work four on four off and should be able to work my shifts out. Our rosters are only published 4 weeks in advance and often change our patterns so I cannot commit to anything too far in advance.

If anyone is indeed up for this, I would be keen on some skill sharing if others don't mind the lack of winter-y experience? Would like to get some more colder-weather experience/general confidence + haven't been able to get out for a few months

Just had a sneak look at our Feb roster. The only dates I can make are the 22nd, 23rd and the 24th Feb or the 9th /10th March. If those dates are no good to anyone else no worries.

As it stands, I'm free 9/10 March

9th and 10th are best for me. My work means i can't confirm things until last moment really, but I can be 85% sure I can keep those days free. Basically if something is happening, I'll attend if I can, but don't plan around me :)

Any ideas where this will be? Dartmoor or Exmoor or somewhere else?

I don't mind where we go, if I can make it, I'll be there

I was toying with the idea of Bodmin moor the other day.
Done plenty of daywalking on it and I reckon you could hit a lot of the interesting bits in a couple of days.
It's the wild camping that might be an issue.

As long as I get the day off before for travelling I'm up for that :)

@Dave V How likely is it looking for you to make the 9th/10th in the Beacons?
Had a look around for a decent meet / start point and came across the New Inn in Ystradfellte. https://www.waterfallways.co.uk/ at £4 a night. There appears to be a car park across the road as well.

@Enzo and @DuneElliot If either of you want to make this one I can give you a lift down on the Friday.

Hi Neil, I asked at work today for them to confirm asap if I am off. If I am, I too will have seats available in the car if anyone from the Exeter area wanted to come along.

Another start point would be Talybont reservoir. There is a pub and campsite in the village.

I'd be interested in coming along to this one. The calendar is looking empty for that weekend.

I could be up for this if circumstances allow.

Last time I was on the Carmarthen Fans was March 2012. There was ice up high. A bit of snow.Microspikes were useful.
Who can tell this far away?
