You need to add your own guylines .
The advantage of doing that i( not supplying them) is that you don't need to throw away the one that it would come with. (because they are never right, are they ?)
At my place :
Me :bloody weather !!!
My wife : what do you mean , it's lovely !
Me : yes and I can't even complain about that .
( in reality I'm not like that at all...)

It also helps to keep the published weight low :angelic:

The guy lines are great on the Notch - in nice weather you can deploy them and roll all the fly sides up for that 'tarp' feeling......in the hoolies I had on Mallorca at Xmas they keep the shelter standing; most impressive.

The FAQ says guylines are included:

What does my purchase include?
The Notch Li fly and interior, a stuff sack, aluminum stakes+ stake bag and the necessary guyline cording. The Notch Li is designed for trekking poles to provide structure to the shelter. There are optional poles for non-trekking pole users that are available for purchase in the webstore.

Perhaps it depends on your (by which I mean TT's) definition of necessary?

The included guylines are the one (yellow cordage) visible in the standard set up shots .
Like this one :

Of course the tent would not stand up without them but some competitors don't include the weight of the guylines needed for their shelters to stand up (not the extra ones...) so yes it is a bit of a weight game but the last ounce is what people discuss.

Have stayed a longer break from various outdoor forums and it's actually a bit tragic or even comical how it all revolves around the same few shelters all the time. They have to come up with something really revolutionary in order for me to acquire another tent, I've been all the way from really heavy to SUL and halfway (almost) back again. I want to say that my experience is that I would like to carry a few grams more to achieve simplicity, durability and versatility.

Sounds like Ryan Jordan had one out in 50mph storm. Not sure it ended well, stories behind the paywall on bpl
In the BPL email:
"We've been out in the Wyoming Wind testing the Dyneema Composite Fabric vs. Silnylon versions of the TarpTent Notch this week, and I have some interesting data to show you. I'll publish an update to the Notch Lithium Review next Sunday, April 22."

Interesting that Erin is an ambassador for ZPacks and Gossamer Gear but she is using the Notch for that trip.
She does mention that she still prefers the Solplex for general use . and this is one reason :I love the space of the Solplex and the option to have both storm doors open at night to see all around me and be that much closer to the outdoors
maybe she hasn't noticed this :

that is the sil version but you can do the same with the Li.

In her case, she has the inner with a partial solid wall so doesn't have this option without opening up the inner.

This is my Notch .
handle-up.jpg
notice anything there ? No ?
How about now ?
Handle-up-2.jpg
yes , it is set up handles up , tip in the ground. For some reason some find this hard or difficult to do so i don't know but it is pretty easy for me to do.
As an aside, this is my place. When I got there a mob of kangaroo were munching away but I scared them off . Some do know me but not all so if one takes off , they others follow.
TT has some "pockets" to secure the pole handle to the apex but I never used them. BTW, I always used the Contrail handle up. Again some found that hard to do. (not hard for those that saw me doing it and then tried the same thing in front of me...)
