True Mountain Trights?

Any one tried these? I need a new pair of lightweight trousers and came across these, they seem Ideal, except for the fact that my legs are pretty big and I don't want anything skin tight. was wondering if anyone had tried them and how the fit is.

 yeah I definitely don't want to be traipsing around in leggings. I normally just wear tracksuit bottoms when I'm walking 'cause they're comfy and light and I find "proper hiking pants" to be less comfortable and even the summer ones are pretty heavy and warm. Thought these might be a good compromise ordered in a size to big. Struggling to find any reviews or even pics with people wearing them though.

I wouldn't mind trying the old USA shorts and tights look, it looks quite comfortable and practical.

I've never been a Ron Hill Tracksters wearer, wrong generation really

I and my daughter use the Rohan Troggings a lot. They are fleecy on the inside, but not as much as say Powerstretch => warm - if active then definately a colder weather garment. The outer surface is really durable. 3+yrs schoolwear every day and they hardly look used. OK for town wear - at least for females - perhaps not so suitable for guys. Very comfortable too.
Not cheap but exceedingly good value - they will last longer than you or I ;). All the Rohan trousers I have (Striders) make my Rab Treklites look a piece of cheap c**p.

I thought these Trights looked quite nice, so I checked the leg lengthof the XL size with True Mountain.

They are 'regular' only with a leg length of 31", only short stout people need apply it seems - definitely no good form me with 35" legs :-(

I did the same with their Event overtrousers...31" inside leg. Seems very short for athletic running folk :rolleyeses:

Apparently they will make the eVent trousers longer - at an uplift of 20%! I think not...

I'm in Montane VIA series 3/4 tights an Cordillera tights at the moment - the latter are a little short but not too bad. Just a bit warm for the weather ATM.
The 3/4 ones are fine for length and warmth - I was wearing the same tights in late September in the lakes and they were fine then too.

Still after a replacement for my Lowe Alpine Drylo tights...

Rab do a version in the same material but they look like underwear....not bothered about that until I hit a town..

They also do these....are they 'crowd friendly' if anyone has them?

Or there are Nike offerings too......

I know a 55 year old should not be wandering around in such garb; but, hey, you do what you can....

I may be wrong but I think the Rab Dryflo gear are the Lowe Alpine ones rebranded. They're all part of the same company. I've tried on a couple of the Rab Dryflo bits and they don't seem the same as Rab sizing to me, a slightly smaller Lowe Alpine cut.

I wore light shorts on my last multiday walk (May), then added rowan ultra silver leggings underneath at night and on the last day when it was colder and windy. Had windpants with me too and never used them. Worked well and think I'll be doing something similar on my next one.

Looking to get some light, just above the knee shorts with hip pockets and some light 3/4 leggings I think. I still like the idea of trights or troggings but think the shorts plus leggings is much more versatile and a similar weight I'd bet.

for 3/4 leggings I've always found Salomon to be really good though few places carry them in the UK. They have the best flat waist bands of any I have had and the rise from the crotch to waist is generous (this matters on steep ground to avoid either cheesewiring your bits or the back coming down) Beware the sizing can be a little on the stingy side. Wiggle sometimes have them up. This years models aren't great but in previous years they have done one that are mesh at the calves and up the side of the thigh.

Beware any model of running 3/4s that has a zipped kidney pocket if you might possibly end up sleeping in them. The zip is a prime candidate for snagging on a sleeping bag or puncturing a mat.

how are thèse for wind résistance @Cathy? Does the DWR finish and fleecy inner combine to give you some protection?
