Hey All... Does anybody please have some sort of tuition advice/pdf or anything on how to use Garmin Basecamp... It's frustrating me like mad! I have a Garmin 64s but for the life off me am unable to get routes onto it or to be honest do anything with it? I am doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks towards the end of August and was hoping to take it out and give it it's first real test drive but it doesn't look like it's going to happen unless I get help! I gave up on garmin stuff, used to be good 15 years ago, now even a slightly smartphone is a million times better.

Mine is a GPS map64st it's absolute *****.
Garmin Basecamp is even worse

My recommendation is to cut your loses with Garmin stuff and use your phone instead.
Viewranger is a million times better than any Garmin software i've used.

Basecamp is sh*te. I've used it a lot.

If you just want to plot routes to transfer I can suggest better platforms?

One of the simplest remedies is GPSies

Intuitive interface, choice of map types to compose routes on.

You should just be able to copy routes over to your Garmin with a usb lead - or by importing the file into Basecamp; connecting the GPS them exporting to device.

Or you can use a free software package - like EasyGPS
