Exped Synmat UL 9 failure

Hi all.

Quick run down, after inflating the mat I moved it to another room in the house, this room was much warmer, about half an hour later I heard a loud pop, the middle two chambers are now one big one, so I have 2 smaller chambers, 1 big one and 2 small ones again, I'm guessing that a repair is out of the question but what if I inflated it again, could I get the other 2 seams to burst you think ? that would give me 3 large chambers instead of 6 smaller one's.

Thanks for any advice.

Contact them. they will more than likely replace for you. If you open up all the tubes it will be crap to sleep on. no rigidity

As Paul said, their customer service is usually very good. They replaced my aged downmat 7 without any quarms.

Is it still under warranty?

I would have to ask @Lady Grey it was the one I bought from her, not laying any blame at all, hopefully some good may come from it ?

Thanks for the replies so far.

Any update on this? I've had a similar failure on one of my Synmats. Mine must be 6 or 7 years old, so definitely outside the 5yr warranty. I'll have to check if i can find a receipt.

I'm debating whether to dissect it, spinnaker tape the baffle back together inside and then effect a long repair to my incision, but that'll be a last resort if there's no hope for a replacement. Interested to hear if anyone else has attempted such a repair...

My downmat 7 has a softball size lump at the bottom... I can live with it for the minute, sadly no receipt or idea which retailer as I bought mine used aswell... I'll have to see if I can track the original owner.... Cheers for the thread

I never had anyone ask for a receipt for a defective pad. Just call. Don't get into specifics.

"I have a %*+£# that leaks, blown baffles whatever. Can I get a warranty replacement please?"
