Sat here in Scotland watching the south coast get our usual autumn storms all this last week ......
Weird weather. East and west much worse than round the Solent, although a lot of rain.
I’m up in the Lakes this week and it’s a lot drier!!

I see on ****TER that PHD are giving some "look at me I'm a hero" publicity for another Bushman and Blue YouTube video.

Never mind the questionable nature of the video - make sure people realise that PHD equipment was used. ;)

Me an Rog Tallbloke met him, Bushman and Blue, in the Kirkstone Pass car park a couple of years back. I was taken with his blue eyed Collie and TBH I'll talk to anyone who stands still long enough. He struck me as someone with more enthusiasm and single mindedness to try to do something with Youtube than sense TBH.

My Uk hillwalking section for some reason takes turns between people pretending to be in dire straits on crib goch and people pretending to be in dire straits on tryfan with the widest lens possible, mixed with folks using stock wind sounds to accompany their wild camps while swearing by some sponsored gear keeping them safe.

Seems like youtube is purposefuly tunes it algorythm to the worse from informative and cinematic videos to cheap thrills and gear reviews for the sake of engagement. Same story with twitter, that turns into ****hole if you dont actively prune it (i use for news feed). I dont engage with facebook unless for work, that is sadly too often, but people complaining too.

I find it particularly troubling because one real reason I (and many if not most others) engage in this pursuit is to get away from the very nonsense which is now claiming it for its own, and will likely hasten its regulation and eventual demise.

Sorry, yes Great Glen Way, I did a very short section between Clunes and South Laggan on TGO Challenge last year. There are also composting toilets so not even wild camping. There's no wild camping without crapping in a small hole you've dug yourself IMO.

Unfortunately, in some places pressure of numbers makes "wild toiletting" an issue. I'd rather see "formal toiletting" than piles of crap.

I once met a chap on the WHW who was walking down from a place that is very popular with groups of youngsters from Fort William and had spent the day burying other people's crap and bog roll.
