Ultralight shoes for river crossing and camp

Crocs offroad are OK because you can strap into them. They are nice to wear in camp to let your feet recover but a nightmare to store in/on your pack though. They have proved useful to shower in at camp sites. I won't be taking mine on my next trip to Scotland but I wear them every day around the house so no loss there.

I've seen Zuuks mentioned on a few kit lists. I guess that these are Hi-tec Zuuks but can't find any available.
Yeah. I use crocs as "outdoor slippers" at home. And have taken them on a couple of backpacking trips years ago. They fit ok in stretch front pockets on my packs.

But find with modern trail shoes being so comfortable, I'm happy wearing them around camp if I can't do barefeet. (I line shoes with bread bags if they are wet, to keep camp socks dry).

I am resigned to the crocs look. But Zuuks are just hideous. 🙈😁

These are 80g more per pair, but are meant for mixed use water / trail with better grip / sole.

These are not necessarily ultralight, but what it seems to be pretty good for water activities & camp. Weight is listed at 410g, I guess it would be for a pair?

I wish they would say if weight is per pair or single.

These might be lighter and suitable - feel free to be the sacrificial purchase lamb and report back...
Cheers. The 67gr mesh water shoes seem worth a try for minimalist camp shoes... The lightest flipflops I have are 82gr and I can't wear them with socks (and they are bulky to pack) ...

As to the second one, I've got something very similar. The all around fabric is thin neoprene and water (e.g. wet grass) comes straight through the sole - not much use for camp. A 3mm CF "insole" solves the water ingress but the combined weight is 85gr for the pair and they feel a bit clammy after a while...

I've got 2 versions of decathalon aqua shoes for the river - both with grippy soles - but they take at least a day to dry and weigh around 300gr a pair. Ok for paddling use but not suitable for hiking IMO (I normally cross rivers either barefoot on in my trail shoes)

Came across these. Not ultralight maybe at 500g, but a different approach, rollable wellies.

sorry wrote a message after not reading the whole thread and people had already mentioned what I added. Couldn’t work out how to delete the post so it was an empty box or an explanation. 🤷🏻‍♂️

These are actually pretty ok if a little heavy - approx 160gr. But grippy real soles and most importantly - quick drying and small packsize. The insole (best removed for water use) has holes so no good as camp shoe unless replaced by 2 or 3mm cf. I ordered my normal shoe size - they fit snugly - and cut the strap off.

Tom, are these two identical or different shoes? I am confused because they look so similar on Aliexpress...
What is the weight per pair with / without your CF insoles?
Thanks in advance.

The first one hasn't got a sole, its like a very short sock with some non-slip spots but otherwise just neoprene similar to these. I cut some cf to put inside and see if that would keep my socks dry in wet grass which it does. But its fiddly and the neoprene is not very comfortable after a while. I haven't got them here to weigh but my cf "insoles" are approx 20gr so the neoprene "watersocks" will be about 65gr a pair. They may have come from ali or ebay - I don't recall.

The ali mesh style watershoes have a real sole (with holes for water drainage) suitable to walk with on hard ground. The insoles also have drainage pin-holes and weigh approx 10gr a pair. CF insoles will be a little heavier...
