Do you not think it's genuine DCF brand?

I assumed it was.

Ripstop stuff presumably is Chinese copy. Doubtless it's strong enough, but seems surprisingly not that much cheaper than the genuine stuff to me.
I wish they'd put a good laminate on the back like the stuff on x21rc to make it properly waterproof.

Definitely my choice for straps and pockets though.

Yeh it's genuine stuff, it certainly blunts blades and scissors like the old stuff but just slightly thinner. I understand that Ripstop have the HDPE made for them specifically.

So has Dutch
https://dutchwaregear.com/product/210d-pack-material/

Don't know if rsbtr get it from the same place the pack manufacturers went to when they moved from DXG to save money or whether they supply them.

"This exact HDPE Gridstop is used by the best in the business and is a common material used in backpacks and other gear from some of the high-end cottage vendors"

Dutch"s stuff is a dollar cheaper and says the parent material is Robic. I've not used it, trying not to import stuff from the States, £$£$!!

I placed an order with ripstop last night for the robic they have. I've never used Dutch.

I understand the adventureX will be getting more Dyneema in and some other VX options soon. I'll probably stick to ordering with them for most stuff. I like the hardware they stock and the service has always been spot on.

Dutchware and rbtr hdpe is different. I like dutch stuff a lot better. Has a better feel and seemingly tighter weave and the coating feels much better. Also, I hope rbtr are using the term hdpe for simplicity. I'd much prefer pure nylon to a hdpe thread woven in. Hdpe and uhmwpe are very different strength wise.

I’ve not used the dutch stuff, that’s hdpe as well isn’t it? Edit, the clue was in your opening sentence

Only order I had with Dutch was for his 10d fabric which seemed to be considered the best. That's definitely different from rsbtr and adventurex.

He calls it extreema/xtreema? I believe that's uhmwpe. The white grid on Dutch's stuff is smaller than all other dxg type fabrics I've used and seen as well.

I don't sorry, but looking at the specs I guess it's the ripstopbytheroll.com silpoly. But would love to hear some experiences as I'm planning in using it to..

Is there anyone selling the wide lengths of tarp-appropriate fabric (e.g. xenon, silpoly xl) in the EU? Or are AdventureExpert and ExtremTextil still the main suppliers of lightweight sil fabrics for shelters?

Sometimes Pro Fabrics have lighter fabrics in and worth a watch same for Pennine Outdoor. Just as case of checking the sites regularly.

May be worth contacting EU cottages too, they may hold some fabrics and be willing to sell small amounts.

Almost complete nub here regarding UL materials...

If I wanted to make a seat for a tripod stool what should I make it out of and where would I buy it?

Has anyone tried or seen the burnt orange Robic from Dutchware?

I'm thinking of making a lightweight synthetic overbag or quilt using climashield apex as the insulation. What material should I use over the climashield?

Prefer user-friendly rather than lightest possible, if that makes it easier to put through a sewing machine. For context, this will be for inside a bivy bag, over a down bag.
