I don't think I know of anywhere in Europe that has any :arghh:

I have some robic extreema from Dutch, but I have a couple projects to do and it'll be the end of the month before I know if I have any left, unless you just need a really small piece or a few scraps?

Thanks.
Looking for 30 - 50 cms x full width.
I had a 'spot on' remnant in my basket and someone else grabbed it before I paid up .

Think I've got some extrem stuff on the bottom of a roll somewhere. Back at work tomorrow so I'll have a look. Be warned though I judge their dxg to be crap which is why it's on the bottom of a roll somewhere. Bought in an emergency but the grid was so far off true in every direction I couldn't use it for product. Coating is also thinner than it should be. If that doesn't bother you I'm sure I can help

When did you buy this fabric? I bought regular price dxg from extex about 2 years ago and it's a very good quality, no errors and very nice coating.
Maybe you have some of the "special price" ones?

No it was full price. I know the special price stuff you are refering too. It wasn't that. Since the tenjin spec dxg went from the market and sellers had their own prepared it's been variable in quality. Its not the first time I've experienced it and I'm sure I heard @craige had some issues with it too. My new supplier provides a perfectly true grid so it can be done.

Yes, I would be interested. And 'off' grid isn't a problem.
I'm converting the draw string closure on the Golite Jam I bought recently to a dry bag closure. Thought I'd extend the top to gain a bit more volume whilst I was at it.
Using gridstop to make it look less of a 'bodge' but it's not essential - and only me who will ever be bothered :whistling:.

Not issues as such, just the grid has never been perfectly straight, worse near the selvedge. Both genuine dxg and rbtr stuff. Dutch stuff is better and the coating is much better. The grid is not perfect, but then again, very rarely are any ripstop grids absolutely perfect. It's also easy to pull them out of alignment on most fabrics, due to bias stretch. Even the x on xpac often isn't perfectly spaced.

yea i expect some deflection where the tenter hooks pull the fabric edge but this stuff is really bad. Had the same thing with xpac from them a good while ago. barely any separation in the x for a good 10 inches. I have a feeling they get a lot of 2nds and pass them off as 1st quality. I no longer use them as they didnt seem to think waves like pipeline beach in the grid was an issue.

Yeah, that's more or less what the rbtr stuff was like for a couple inches, but even then the grid was SLIGHTLY off, probably not noticable on your pouches but on a long pack seam I remember it being off around a square and a half (say 80cm)
So what are you using now @paul or is it one of those trade secrets

I've cut half a metre Cathy. Will be in the post on Thursday which is my 1st run. I don't want anything for it but if it helps you out a pogo donation would be good.

Thank you very much.

Yes, I should root around (stop laughing the OZZY's ) and find something to put up.

Recent purchases from AdventurXpert.

Very good service, 5 day delivery and they have some nice fabrics and hardware.

Just got an eBay spacer mesh delivery, in which was a load of fabric samples.

A couple looked like they could be useful for backpanels. I'm not a fan of the weight of the 3mm spacer mesh I usually use. They also sent some thinner normal spacer mesh that looks useful for straps etc.

Adventurexpert.com has dyneema grid stop now too
https://www.adventurexpert.com/product/dyneema-gridstop/

I haven't used it yet but was thinking of doing a backpack with it.. Kind of atompacks style. But I already have too many packs

It's great for packs, I order a couple of meters a few weeks ago and then some more last week lol.

It seems slightly thinner than the Dyneema grid I've used before and definitely thinner than the HDPE from ripstop. I've been using an old Singer and the seams hold nicely.

I'd recommend a silver Sharpie or some chalk for marking out, they show up best for me.

Do you not think it's genuine DCF brand?

I assumed it was.

Ripstop stuff presumably is Chinese copy. Doubtless it's strong enough, but seems surprisingly not that much cheaper than the genuine stuff to me.
I wish they'd put a good laminate on the back like the stuff on x21rc to make it properly waterproof.

Definitely my choice for straps and pockets though.
