Also appear to be some good prices on exped mats on that link. A shame expeds naming scheme is so confusing between the older and newer models. And that web sellers list such scattered info on r-values and temp ratings (and on a few of those just seem to have put completely incorrect numbers).

Exped Lightning 60 Backpack. I have one of these, if I it was stolen, I'd buy another. Now only £115.

Actually I'd probably buy something else, regret it, sell it and then by another of these.
Been half lusting over that pack for years as a pack for when I’m pushing the weight capacity of the prophet.. how true is the capacity? Been a few years since I eyeballed one in person.

I don't have enough other pack experience to comment on capacity. I'd say it is easily 60l but take that with as much salt as you like. I know that it doesn't suit everyone and If you have a rounded upper back the frame can cause pain or rub. For me it fits perfectly and carries 12kgs in comfort on 8+ hour days. The hip belt and frame works really well.

I had the 45l and they claim as the back adjusts to all sizes that you get a true 45-60L capacity
Great packs, but it’s the thin narrow straps that cut into you that lets it down.

I honestly can't believe that you are talking about the same pack. Mine has lovely big, well padded shoulder straps and if you set it up right the vast majority of the weight is carried through the waist belt which is as good as I've seen with a nice large pad at the base of the spine.

I’m with @FOX160 i had the 45 and found the straps cut in when carrying a little less than 10kg, so following advice and as I have done in the past with Kifaru packs and the like, loosened the shoulder straps, tightened the hip belt and let the hip belt take more of the weight, which also helped with the heat and ventilation in Portugal, but noticed what I put down to some hamstring pain combined with being an old git. I persevered with this pack for nigh on 250km before acknowledging that the pain was sciatic in origin and related to sacro-iliac stress and inflammation due to bearing the weight on my hips and tightening the hip belt. OK, I am an old git but I’ve never had any issues before and while it took the best part of a year to settle down, I’ve changed packs and not had a recurrence.

Did the straps look like those in the picture?

It was four years ago, but unless they’ve changed them, then yes.
A shame as I liked the pack in most other respects.
As I say, I’m not in the first flush of youth and it doesn’t relate to the 60, but as is the way of internet forums I felt obliged to add my almost relevant 2p. ;)
