where did you find those Phil?
Ebay a seller called BetterWorldBooks.

I just searched for scottish hill tracks on Ebay and there are others on there around the same price. In fact I think I paid £2 for exploring and £4 ish for the rights of way society one.

My TUP came today. It's very compact and holy cow its powerful. 1000 lumen turbo mode is a beast. Clever circuit with LED display. Shows battery level, lumens and run time remaining in each mode. I've not charged it but it's showing 8.5 hours at 65 lumens. Very impressive for such a dinky thing.

Keep it clean (inside) and don't bank on the warmth when wet through.
Was initially the warmest jacket I ever had. Very windproof... Just rubbish when allowed to get wet on the inside from sweat and wet on the outside from too much freezing rain/hail. My mistake but definitely killed the theory of them being insulating when wet.
Other than that... Toasty, comfortable and smart.

It will be my really cold weather over-laying jacket so shouldn't really get wet (much). Impressed with the comfort of it already. There were two on sale on eb@y, different sizes, cheap, so got both. You don't see these often. Will keep the one that fits best (that's the plan...but at that price...my daughter could wear the smaller one...)
Now I just need the trousers.

Tent's been cleaned (pure liquid soap hand wash) and reproofed once. The groundsheet leaked a bit, the fly seemed okay before proofing, just a few little drips, probably through the vents when I put the hose on it. The only thing "wrong" is the tape that runs under the pole sleeve which is disintegrating, not a big concern, can always seam seal it.

An old vango apex, quite cheap, has some mildew on the fly but I think some tlc will put it right.
I like the shape of it, might try it without the apex cross-piece and just guy the vents instead.
Not as tough as the older macpac microlight, but weighs a bit less.
Supposed to be my winter tent.

(Excuse cr@ppy pitching, the second attempt eas much better)

Nothing still beats the stealth 2 though, for all its niggles and awkwardness, for me and the dog its pretty good.

Thats my winter tent of choice. Pitching taught does get better with practice. I've added some guy points, but the internal vango guy system is pretty good for helping it keep shape in wind. If you can find a footprint online or make one its a palace without the inner.

Was only looking at one of these the other day. Do you have a link for purchase? There seems to be huge sways in price from different vendors, over £50 to less than £30.

K:)

Can see a few on AE but none on the fennix store...but then again it's a bit difficult to actually find a store on AE...Plus all the shipping says new year delivery....which in real money to Ireland is Easter!!!

Are the AE ones and other Nitecore products genuine?

I bought a 'tube' light, packaging looked very Nitecore but the name was not mentioned. The listing was the same, basically a Nightcore Tube listing that doesn't say Nightcore. Looking at the listings, the ones that actually say Nightcore are a bit more expensive, they should be legit.

I came across your review about it :)

How does the cross-piece hold out in wind?
(I pitched it without and just guyed it instead to see how it looked, seems possible if necessary.)

Another Q: which way is best in windy conditions, back-end in the wind (like a macpac) or side-ways?

Those plastic hooks seem a bit of a faff, might replace them with something better.
