My 1L HDPE Nalgene bottles (used in winter) are 77g including 3mm CCF cosy.
You must have one of the Tritan models which are noticeably heavier.

3mm ccf?
ye its an on old lifeventure one lol
must of had it 15 years at least hence why i am upgrading my kit

My polycarbonate 500ml Nalgene is about 80g, a PET bottle and pour n store bag would be 30 odd grams.

Far more secure and no messing about with gaffa tape

Found a bottle to fit the micro, same weight as the 1l pouch but better to drink straight from. 20g. Crushable for storage, bonus the cap fits well and I find it easier to drink from than the standard micro cap. Plus it's flip top.
Commonly Found in home bargains. Look for the poison blue zero cal energy brand. Oshee.

That is fantastic @Chiseller
Well spotted. I'm going to try one of those 'smart water' bottles when my micro arrives..... tick tock.. . Tick tock.... lol

I have heard they fit too.
What capacity is the bottle?

Yes - them's the ones!
I know they're not rigid, but I've always got by with them. For me they're a strong, weight-efficient and reliable water-carrying tool. Water's important, and I've never heard of failure in normal use (which you can hardly say for Sawyer!). Also, it shares the Sawyer's cap thread, so I've still got an option if the Sawyer bottle shreds. The common cap thread size also means you can do rudimentary backflushing of the Micro in the field, using the (4g) Sawyer coupling supplied with the Micro, rather than have to carry the (32g) plunger/syringe thingy.
If I want to drink from a rigid container (eg lunch breaks) I just pour into my cup which is ready in my hip-belt pocket. Old habits die hard and I still like to avail myself of unfiltered stream water on the trail when I can.
I'm aware this doesn't suit everyone, particularly fell-running types who like to drink 'on the go' by means of an easily grabbable bottle or a bladder/tube setup, but as a more relaxed hiker I've not felt the need.

ahh thats great mate, good to know, handy infact.
i like that you can backflush with it instead of like you said the 32g plunger, i would probably leave that in the car anyway tho..... maybe.

i would have to get used to using a flexible container tho

thanks for the info............. this forum is great and really helpfull campers:D

The newer Sawyer bladders are reputedly stronger, though I have no personal experience. How old is your Platypus? The thread was supposedly changed a few years ago and no longer matches the Sawyer correctly. Or maybe Platypus changed the thread back again? My Platypuses are all very old, so I can't check.

You can also backflush with the Evernew and Sawyer bladders.

My Platypus bottles are 3 years and a few months old respectively - all the threads match up with the Sawyer.
In fairness to Sawyer, their bottles never failed on me. It's just that others were reporting failures. The latest Sawyer 1L certainly feels different to its predecessor, being 18g instead of 28g. While I can't comment on its reliability, I can say that the weight saving has been achieved at the expense of some rigidity (it's floppier) which makes it more difficult to fill directly from a stillwater source.

No washer on this end but you do get a spare one for the other end in the box. Must have fallen during excited unpacking procedure. ;)
