I must admit that I hadn't heard of Athena SWAN, so thanks for contributing to my education.
Thinking of alternatives to Chris' pejorative noun, all the ones that spring most easily to my mind are slurs on some sub-group or other.

I´m a bit slow,but do we talk about the "b...h"?:o o::rolleyes:

Yes @WilliamC once you start analysing it it's very noticeable how quickly these perjoritive terms, that seek to keep down, or slur "Those who are not like us" slip off the tongue.

If you ever have a moment between classes write two lists of synonyms.

One for instance, of all the words that describe vocal and opinionated women, versus those that indicate vocal and opinionated men..

It may open your eyes to the tide against which we still swim, on a rather dull daily basis..

Not that I'd claim membership of any kind of "sub-group" you understand :angelic:

I understand wimmin are quite a common species nowadays...They're everywhere !!!

Fast to get wet, fast to get dry. Grip off the scale, especially on wet rock. Yet to test them in mud.

Nice shoes indeed but wondering about those tiny knobbles on the sole profile - seen that on a couple of shoes lately.... I don't imagine they can last very long? What happens to that good grip on rock then??? Experiences by anyone appreciated...

Athena SWAN is a 'big thing' at work now...

Somewhat ironically....(but you'd have to do more reading to realise why)
Not where I work judging by some of the comments at yesterday's staff meeting :(. And that's with a female head and deputy head.

Ok folks, now this is REALLY offtopic, isn´t it? If it helps,I remove the "b...h" .Thought as a non-native it would have been a common slang expression...

I've seriously hankered after one of these for a while. This particular pulk has a bit of a backstory and has been hauled to the South Pole. Big enough to use as an emergency bivy and keep my kit loaded low enough that it wont tip too readily. Crazy light with it's exotic lay-up.

She has been named Kate. :)

These little nobbles are jist surplus from the mold . They do the same soles with carbide studs.
As for the multitude of small nobbles. No great difference. Ive seen 1st hand how older soles perform on wet and dry rock , mud and gravel.
They are a big thing in Sweden and Norway and have a big following for obstacle course racing .
Its the compound thats the magic aswell as the pattern.
I had the mud pattern before and they were fierce.
