Had a look at the new Eja and Exos and thought they were a backward step from my black and green one, I rate that pack pretty highly so the new ones are a disappointment.

I like the y top strap, good for retaining a wp jacket. But not a fan of mesh side pockets. Hmg are prettier for sure.

Seen lots of HMG on the PCT sections I have done...not one MLD DCF pack.

Tried an HMG on in Bishop, CA last week....still a little concerned about that 'pull back' feel from no load lifters; then, reviews say load it heavy upwards..

Chip in - a few users on here I believe??

I have no personal experience for you but I wonder what your motive is for considering a change? Isn't 3400cu.inch rather big for you? And an increase in weight.
You've probably read this thread on BPL, there are of course many positive threads too.

I have.

Ummm....I like it cos it is black and sexy

...but really...I'll not be buying a pack with mesh again I think (hope); I use my gear a lot and treat it carelessly (as I think you should be able to).

The 3400 is very close to the 2400 dimensions...the extra weight and capacity is in the roll top...which might be used as a bivvy tis so big.

If I jump I have time to think about it...my courier is not coming until December...and I like load lifters..., you know, just thinking :D

This was the blurb with the MLD pic:

2019 Burn, Prophet and Exodus

There are a few small tweaks/options/features, hard to see in the pics, we will explain/offer soon! PLEASE keep that in mind as you comment or repost. The is only a small sneak peek.

The Wasabi Dyneema X is the same stuff Signature Wasabi Green we have used for years. Not shown, also available in the Signature Dark Gray we have also used for years.

The new DCF Gray is our new DCF pack color and can be ordered now to start shipping in about 9-12 weeks. NOTE: The last white DCF packs are being built and shipping now to fill those older existing orders. When the white runs out in a few weeks out we will start building in gray only.

The relative sizes of the three packs are easy to see. The only size difference between the Prophet and Exodus is the Exodus has a 4" taller extension collar. Exodus also has a wider 1.5" belt. Other than those two features they are the same. Exodus no longer available in torso size Small but we will add a stock XL.

All three packs have the same size shoulder straps and the same size padded hipbelt wings. Burn and Prophet use 1" webbing on the hipbelt.

Burn and Prophet size Small torso gets a slightly smaller or narrower shoulder strap and hipbelt wing.

About 2 more weeks until new website pages get built...but we are making progress!

If you have a pack on order, you will will be getting the newest, latest, bestest, !yobuddy! version as pictured. They have been shipping for a while now.

Fugugly IMO.

The strappage, mahoosive offset logo patch and split fabric side pockets have made these packs look less desirable to my mind.

Those green buckles!

Tony Hobbs thinks that they're "beautiful looking packs"
While I agree about the patch and buckles, I don't think they're any worse than most cottage/small scale company packs. But beautiful...?

Well, as we know, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". It's all personal taste.

I'm not alone though :p...

I like the green buckles and the offset label is so you can see it - not obscured by straps.
The rest just looks messy - but I'm no expert in the "What Packs" dept. :bag:

I'm quite liking those little green buckles too. Ever fumbled around for a buckle on your pack because it's the same colour (ie black) as the strap? We have those lurid cord pulls on our tent pegs for a reason...

The label, however - who needs it anyway? It's either badge snobbery, free advertising, or both. And it adds a gram or two...

Ditch the label and have people think it's your brilliant MYOG. Or replace it with a discreet AliExpress logo.

MLD buckle update:

OK all U green pack buckle h8ters ;-) !!!

We Hurd U!

We've ordered black ones.

About 8 weeks to get them and we must use the green until then and very sorry -but no- we can not hold, swap, retrofit, mystically summon, whipado, or other wise promise the black ones until they arrive and then we will start using them on all packs asap. Also, the reverse - when we get black they will all be black.

So - any of the main packs ordered now will end up with black buckles. Some Cores ordered now may have the green for a few more weeks.

Note: In the order MOQs we get these super tough little buckles it's a custom production run and so to make peace with the non-green option we are shelving a few thousand $ worth of the green or using them over the next 10+ yrs on dry bags, little stuff, etc. Maybe someday we'll have to get some camo fabric to make some packs to use them on!
